Lemon for Glowing Skin

There is something amazing about lemons that is realized from its fresh aroma and golden color that refreshes the mood and spirits immediately. Its tangy flavor has made our cuisines taste better and helped us devise various Mock-tails and Mojitos. The goodness of lemon is mostly connected with its richness in Vitamin C, however many people don’t know that lemons are great source of calcium, magnesium and potassium as well. These can help in improving the texture of our skin, hair and nails significantly.

Health benefits of lemon:

Getting rid of acne:
Take out juice of half a lemon and apply it on your face for 10 minutes before taking bath. The antibacterial properties of lemon will help in treating acne successfully.

Lightening of pigmentation and blemishes:
Mix 1 tsp lemon juice with half a tsp honey and apply on your face and neck. The citrus properties will lighten the skin tone and remove the marks of scars, spots and other blemishes gradually. Do not put lemon on cuts, wounds or bruises it will cause sting like sensation.

Removal of the excess oil:
Instead of using wet wipes and cosmetics all day long, it is better to use lemon on your skin that absorbs all the excess oil from the oil glands on the face and make you feel fresher for long hours after application. Simply dip a small piece of cotton in lemon juice and dab it all over your face. Wash it off with cold water and use moisturizer.

Get the dandruff sorted out:
Mix juice of 1 lemon with oil and massage gently on your scalp to get rid of scales of dandruff in just one wash! Any hair oil can be used but coconut oil is considered the best for the strengthening of roots of hair and scalp.

Brightening of hair color:
Instead of investing money in expensive cosmetics over the counter, it is the best to buy lemon from a grocery store and use it as a color lock conditioner. You can combine the juice of lemon with your regular conditioner and apply on hair while washing them.
